Captain Geoff

Geoff was raised in Bothell, Washington, where he graduated from Inglemoor High School in 1980. He attended the University of Washington, earning a degree in Business. Geoff entered into the charter fishing industry at age 15 as a deckhand aboard the charterboat Blitz. In 1982, after 6 years as a deckhand, he went on to get his 100-ton Master's license. Geoff's first boat was the Silver Doll, which he owned and operated for 3 years. He sold the Silver Doll and bought the Advantage, which currently owns.

With 30 years invested in the fishing and maritime industry, Geoff has had the opportunity to operate boats from Long Beach, California to Seward, Alaska. The bulk of his experience is charter and commercial fishing in the Westport and Neah Bay, Washington area.

During the summer months, Geoff runs sport-fishing charters for halibut, albacore tuna, rockfish, lingcod, and salmon. In the winter he commercial fishes for dungeness crab. In addition, he has been involved with shrimp trawling, salmon trolling, hook & line bottom fishing, whale watching, bird watching, eco-tours, towing, government contracting, and research projects. Geoff has also taken roles in the fishing community. He has been active in fisheries management as a member of the Westport Charter Boat Association, as a member of the Washington Dungeness Crab Fisherman's Association, and more recently, as an advisor from the commercial/charter industry to the Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary.
